Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) Information
(Izmir, Turkey)
The Adnan Menderes Airport serves Turkey's third-most populous city, Izmir, a thriving Mediterranean port in the middle of the west coast of Turkey. This hub, named after one of Turkey's former prime ministers, is well connected to Izmir and beyond by road, bus and rail.
In 2007, the year after the official opening of the current International Terminal, the annual passenger throughput at the Adnan Menderes Airport slightly exceeded five million people. Nowadays, the terminal welcomes in the region of 8.5 million passengers every year, ranking it as the proud fourth busiest among all of the Turkish airports.
Although most of the airport's passenger traffic is domestic, it also handles a number of non-stop flights to cities across Europe, in addition to a Royal Jordanian flight to Amman.

Cars
The car journey between Izmir and its airport takes around 30 minutes, via the Mustafa Kemal Sahil Bulvari and the Izmir Cevre Yolu, also known as the O-30 or the E881. An alternative, slightly longer route takes drivers to the city centre via Akcay Caddesi. It is also possible to drive to many of western Turkey's other popular Mediterranean Sea communities. Tire, Cesme and Manisa are some of the most frequent day trip destinations from Izmir.
Buses
Havas shuttle buses leave the Turkish Airlines office roughly once every 20 minutes for stops throughout Izmir. The entire Havas shuttle bus route lasts about 50 minutes. Three city buses, numbered 200, 202 and 204, also travel between Izmir and its airport, but their unidentified bus stops and the city's one-way network can confuse passengers who are unfamiliar with the city.
Trains
The airport contains one of the 30 plus stations that combine to make up Izmir's metro route. Trains stop at the station, just in front of the Domestic Terminal, and travel to Aliaga and Torbali, among other stations.
